Kai Greene | A New Breed, Volume 1 | Overkill | Part 4

Share
Here's Part 4 of Kai Greene's overkill and in my opinion, it's the most motivating part of the series so far. I shed a tear while watching it, especially during the last few minutes. It reminds me of the times sometimes when I'm in my gym, 1am in the morning, alone with rock music blasting through the speakers at maximum volume. And I just cry. Not because of the pain. Yes, the pain is there. And it's extreme. But I'm not crying because of that. I'm crying because I want to the best so bad. I want to be the best sooo fuckin' bad! And I'm disappointed with myself. Times when I could have done one more rep. Times when I could have slept earlier and not cheat on my diet. All passes through my mind. Inside, I start scolding myself,

"Do you wanna win? Do you wanna fuckin' win!? Do you wanna be the best?! Someone is doing this too and they are doing it better than you! Then swallow your blood and keep on going! *roar!*"

This is a dedicated sport my brothers and sisters. You must want it so badly to be the best in it. It's not about working out to look good anymore.

What is it about then?

It's about this one life.

You have only chance. One chance to make history. One chance to prove you're different from the billions of people in this world.

Supplement Review: Nutri-ForeFront Scorch Remix

Share
Since I've started preparing for Mr Kuala Lumpur 2010, I added a fat burner to my arsenal - Nutri-ForeFront Scorch Remix.

So, let's talk about Scorch.

Here are the ingredients.

And here's a short explanation about each ingredient.

EGCG (epigallocatechin-3-gallate) - increases thermogenesis
Caffeine - increases thermogenesis too
Xantinol Nicotinate - increases ATP (for short-term burst of energy) production, dilates blood vessels, and improves short-term memory (Note: its effects are more prominent towards mental focus)
Raspberry Ketones - increases lipolysis and prevents fat synthesis
Evodiamine - increases bodily chemical reactions and therefore, metabolism/thermogenesis
Forskolin - activates fat-burning enzymes and increases testosterone production too!
Ginger root - diaphoretic (increases sweating) and stimulates blood circulation and metabolism
Synephrine -increases fat burning and suppresses appetite
Bioperine - helps the body to utilise nutrients more efficiently

The first thing I noticed about Scorch is its thermogenic (increase in metabolism) effect, awakening effect and energy-giving effect. Really, this stuff really keeps me up. However, I can't take full dose. It gives me insomnia. THAT'S how powerful it is. Try taking 2 in the morning and if you feel it's ok, you can increase your intake. Recommended dosage is 3 capsules per serving, twice a day.

Oh, and another that I always look for when choosing a fat burner is a comprehensive ingredient list. If you look around for fat burners, you might notice that some fat burners have maybe two or three main ingredients whereas others may have dozens and dozens of ingredients! If I'm on a budget and I can only choose one fat burner, I'll choose the one with many ingredients. That's because fat burners can induce weight loss via dozens of ways! (E.g. Increase metabolism, increase preference of fat as an energy source, increase fat-burning hormones, decrease synthesis/absorption of fat, etc.) So more ingredients = more fat-burning mechanisms tackled!

O yea, there's one more thing I like about Scorch. Do you notice it? You won't need to be a supplement expert to notice it. Scorch does not have any proprietary blend! So, I know how much of what ingredients am I getting in every dose! No hidden dosages!

Lastly, because it's a fat burner, my girlfriend wanted some of it too. So I split the bottle with her. And damn, she did lose quite a significant amount of weight using Scorch! It's pretty obvious by her overall look. (I don't know how much weight though. She doesn't even tell me that! Sssshh.. Sensitive issue).

However, my girlfriend used the maximum dose of 3 capsules per serving twice a day. And that's meant for big bodybuilders! And Scorch is already powerful! So yes, there are side effects.

And I'm the victim. :(

She played Pet Society on my Facebook. And she created a girl! Now my profile's all sissy!! Here's the comments on the Pet Society photo album on my Facebook.

*sobs*
Guys, take my advice, NEVER let your girlfriend take the recommended serving amount for Scorch.

In conclusion, I would probably look around and see if there's any formula better than Scorch since there are plenty of comprehensive fat burners out there. If there isn't any better than Scorch, I'll go back to using it.

O yea, just a short note, I got Scorch from Nutri-ForeFront which I discovered, has a large community of fitness and bodybuilding enthusiasts on their forum! So if you guys wanna share some knowledge or get some free tips, check it out!

Supplement Review: Scivation Xtend

Share
Since I've started preparing for Mr Kuala Lumpur 2010, I've added a BCAA & Glutamine blend to my arsenal - Scivation Xtend.

So, what about Scivation Xtend?

Just like Magnum Quattro, I've actually heard a lot about Xtend before I bought it. Xtend is actually a top selling product in USA. Let me be soooooo freakin' honest with you why they are selling so well!

Because they have a great marketing idea. But I'm not saying that it's a bad thing. Let me explain, NUS School of Business student style.

Unlike certain companies, Scivation doesn't spend tonnes of money on ads, promises everything and deliver nothing. Instead, they created a great product, then they wrote FREE e-books, promote the e-books on forums and on BodyBuilding.com and of course, recommended people to use Scivation's products.

But in particular, Scivation recommended the usage of Xtend in a certain way that really makes sense and is very practical to lots of people. And that is to

DRINK IT DURING WORKOUTS TO PREVENT CATABOLISM!

Yes, it's just THAT simple, but hey, that's really effective AND practical. And yes, that's what I'm doing now.

Why is it so effective and practical?
1. It's a drink, not capsule. And drinking something during workouts always seem more natural than taking pills.
2. It has taste.
3. All ingredients in Xtend are amino acids (not concentrates or isolates). This means that it goes straight into the body without needing to be digested. So it doesn't feel like you're eating something during your workout, like the old saying, "don't eat and exercise".
4. It has Glutamine to help recovery too!

So I would say, this is a very practical supplement.

Ok, now to results.

On the surface, Xtend gave me an awakening and refreshing effect in the gym.

Right now, I'm preparing for Mr Kuala Lumpur on 20th June. And unlike my preparation for Muscle War 2010, I didn't lose weight just as fast. I was wondering what went wrong! And it turned out to be a good thing! During my prep for Muscle War, I was losing fat AND muscle. :( But for Mr KL, my strength is increasing even on a low carb diet! I'm losing fat AND gaining muscle! :D

Oh, if you're wondering where I've heard about Xtend in the first place... I actually downloaded their e-book. :)

In conclusion, XTEND IS STAYING IN MY SUPPLEMENT STACK and never saying goodbye! And I'm not the only one. On a Malaysian bodybuilding forum, there's this guy who posted up a photo of the stacks of bottles of Scivation Xtend that he has used up. And it was so many that it covered up half of an entire wall of his room!

That's the loyalty that Scivation Xtend receives!

For You I Write

Share
Hello my dear readers, I just wanna get a message around here. If you think about it,

Who will stay from 10am to 8pm, thirsty and feeding on a protein shake for a day to cover the Singapore Bodybuilding Nationals for a website?

And who will spend the 48 hours after that editing, uploading and blogging about it with only 5-6 hours of sleep?

And for ZERO pay.

Who else other than me, Lai Wee Kiat, author of Fabodylous?

And why do I do it for?

For the readers. Yes, for you. And I'm willing to continue doing this, and more - on one sensible condition. As long as there ARE readers. In only three and a half months, Fabodylous has grown to a blog with a few dozen readers to a blog with several hundred readers a day. But as of 17th April 2010, Fabodylous has only 33 followers, and over 200 members on its Facebook group.

So support this blog! Click here to find out how. Plus, help me build this blog by commenting on the posts. Other than that, if you have an idea of how to improve Fabodylous, email me at fabodylous@gmail.com. And if you do, Fabodylous will bring you more diet, training and supplement tips and more contest coverage!

In fact, I'm getting other top bodybuilders to help me with the contents of Fabodylous. So, you'll get better advice from people who has been there and done that.

P.s. Other than me, someone else has contributed a lot to the Singapore bodybuilding scene, and for a longer period than me too. His name is Tony Tong and if you check out his Youtube channel here, you will find out why.

Fabodylous Fun at the Nationals Review!

Share
So here it is! My side of the story!

It was raining heavily. Nonetheless, more than a thousand bodybuilding fans gathered at Kreta Ayer People's Theatre.

From now onwards, any text in
yellow represents words shouted out by the crowd.

The event started with the Juniors under-60kg category.

"Eh Zen, open your eyes lah!"

And omg, on the Kreta Ayer People's Theatre speakers, Max Lin's posing music was so addictive! It was stuck on the mind of a certain SBBF official when I had dinner with him several days after the event!

And oh! Look at Danie Dharma's moonwalk!

AND THERE'S EVEN A DANIE DHARMA MOONWALK GIF!!!
gif creator

:D

Oh, this is the first time I saw this guy competing. He seems to be always smiling.

"Eh Earric! Colgate sponsor ka?"

Ibrahim says, "Eh you! Stop smiling or I'll give you one ttiiigghhhttt slap!"

"Eeee! You got bathe or not wan?!"

HAH! I KNEW IT!! THIS SIGHTING IS AT EVERY COMPETITION IN SINGAPORE!! 3 OUT OF 3!!

Firdaus thinks to himself, "Mr Singapore is mine! All mine! Muahahaha!"

Later that day...

"What?? What do you mean it's Kevin Chiak?"

The next series of photos are from Wong Hong's guest posing routine.

A titan steps on stage...

And he prepares himself for total stage domination...

And BOOM! His guns blow everyone away!

And in the middle of his routine, he asks the crowd,

"What? What is your favourite bodybuilding blog again?"

"FABODYLOUS!!"

"You got that right!"

And here's both of us posing with each other! Don't compare!

Me: Eh Wong, be honest with me, how many doughnuts you had today?
Wong Hong: Only two, bro.

Er, Ibrahim, what are you looking at huh?

Suddenly, everyone is paying more attention to the stage now.

Marcus Fam knows that if you want to be famous, you pose for Fabodylous' camera. And it's the head again!

Jonas: That kid took my BCAA!!!
Firdaus: Eh, calm down bro.

Marcus: Hey Bernard, could you help me scratch my back down here?

Posing with Kevin "Mr Singapore" Chiak

Oh look! It's Mr Asia Zetri Munir!

Great job to SBBF for organizing the event!

Thank you to

Tony Tong for the company that day and for such professional videos of the event!
Justin Chong and Team Iron Behemoths for the tickets!
